SHORT BIOGRAPHY
NICKOS HARIZANOS was born in Athens. He studied Composition, Orchestration, Harmony and Counterpoint in Athens under the supervision of the professors/composers Christos Lambrianidis and Spyros Klapsis from 1992 to 1999.
He then continued his studies in Composition at Manchester University (2000-2001) with Professor John Casken and Professor Geoffrey Poole, graduating with a research Master’s degree (MMus) in Composition. He was offered a place for PhD studies in Composition at Cardiff University.
His music has been performed in the U.S.A., Russia, Japan, U.K., Mexico, Korea,
Latvia, Colombia, Ukraine, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, France, Czech Republic,
the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, Albania, Lithuania, Hungary,
Serbia, Cyprus, Greece.

His music has been broadcasted by Greek National TV and Radio Stations along with International TV stations (Spain) and Radio stations (USA, Portugal, Czech Republic, Colombia). He also has composed music for theatre and documentaries in Greece and UK.
He is a member of the Greek Composers Union (GCU), the Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association (HELMCA) (Greece), Contemporary Music Research Centre (KSYME) (founded by Iannis Xenakis) (Greece). He is the Director and member of KSYMEnsemble. As a Professor of Composition and Advance Theoritical Studies of Music, he's been teaching at En Organis Conservatory in Athens, Greece since 2008 and he also teaches Stage Music at Prova School of Drama Studies. His name is included in Who Is Who Encyclopaedia (2006 edition onwards). His works are published by Da Capo Music Ltd (U.K.), Gold Branch Music Inc. (U.S.A.) and Contemporary Music Research Centre (Greece).
